A Short History of the Apostolic Carmel

  • A student should be regular in attendance, punctual and diligent in his/her work and of exemplary behaviour. He/she should be in his/her respective class 5 minutes before the bell.
  • In no way should a student disfigure the walls of the school or destroy school property. Scribbling on furniture is prohibited. Parents are bound to make good any damage done to school property or library books.
  • Students who do not pay their fees, who are habitually absent or late, lazy or disobedient, whose conduct is injurious to the moral tone of the school or incompatible with its discipline, may be dismissed.
  • Students are to address their teachers and all members of the school staff with due respect and politeness. Arrogant and challenging behaviour towards teaching or non-teaching staff is not desired.
  • During the change of teacher or when going from one class to another they should move in order and silence should be observed.
    a) Students must speak only in English within the School premises.
    b) They are never to leave the class without the permission of the teacher.
    c) Every Student must possess an identity card issued by the School.
  • Cameras, magazines, newspapers, cassettes, C.D's, i-pods or cell phones must not be brought to the school without the Principal's consent. The school management has every right to carry out inspection as and when required.
  • Students should not bring valuable articles to the school. The school Is not responsible for goods lost. Books, Stationery, Cardigans, School bags, Tiffin boxes etc. should bear the name of the owner and he/she will be responsible for their safe keeping.
  • Students will not be allowed
    a) To leave the school during the school hour unless the parent comes to take the student.
    b) To raise subscriptions or collect any kind of funds.
    c) To give gifts to the members of the staff.
    d) To organize any picnic, excursion, tournament, musical programme or fete without permission.
  • No Student will leave the school during working hours or lunch break, without a gate pass or the Principal's permission.
  • Physical education is compulsory. Exemption will be allowed only on production of a Medical Certificate, along with the medical report.
  • Every Student must have his/her own copy of the school Prospectus. He/she is expected to bring it to the school daily.
  • All correspondence addressed to pupils is subject to the scrutiny of the Principal.
  • All complaints or remarks about methods of teaching, curriculum etc. should be made to the Principal and not to the teacher concerned.
  • Parents are requested to make complaints if any to the principal directly, and not to the teacher concerned.
  • During all activities and outings the school takes all necessary care and precautions. Yet in spite of that if an accident or mishap occurs the school shall in no way be held responsible or liable.
